Matsui 55 Baseball Foundation hosted its first baseball clinic on Sunday October 4th 2015 in Staten Island, New York, for 34 local little leaguers. Although it was hosted inside the gym due to bad weather, Matsui along with coaches provided coaching for the young players. After basic fielding and batting drills, Matsui pitched to all the participants for live hitting. There was a Q and A session where the participants had the chance to ask many questions to the former World Series MVP, as well as autograph / photo sessions.
